Other Modernist masterpieces by the early 20th century genius architect Gaudí on the tour are the Casa Batlló, Park Güell and his best known work of art La Sagrada Familia Church.

To discover all within walking distance from your hotel you can opt for just the guide who will take you on a tour of the Barri Gotic, the oldest part of town enclosed by city walls in Roman times and consisting of a maze of streets and squares surrounding Barcelona’s impressive 13th century cathedral. It’s most famous avenue is La Rambla with picturesque flower stalls and news stands and the exquisite La Boquería marketplace. The area comprises the ancient Jewish quarter El Call with Shlomo Ben Adret synagogue and medieval mansions and churches of which most noteworthy are the Basilica of Santa María del Mar, a jewel of Gothic Catalán architecture and the Palau Aguilar, once home to Spanish nobility and now the city’s Picasso Museum. Continue to the Eixample, the most elegant district of Barcelona developed at the end of the 19th, early 20th century, when Barcelona’s upper class contracted modernist architects to build their magnificent palatial houses.
